Professional NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHer SERVING LEE'S SUMMIT, RAYTOWN, INDEPENDENCE AND BLUE SPRINGS, and kansas City
Hello beautiful picture lovers!
Today I have a real treat for you, and it comes in the form of a sweet little 8 day old baby named Blake.
It feels like only a few days ago I was photographing Megan and Tim’s maternity session. Man, time sure flies by. Just the other day Megan shared some darling photos on Instagram of Blake sporting a Kansas City Chiefs jersey. I am always so thrilled when I get to see how these sweet little babies grow! When I realized this little guy is almost 3 months old though, I figured it was time to get my butt in gear and share his newborn photos with all of you.
I got to take a bit of a different approach when styling this session. Megan visited my home studio to try on a maternity gown from my client closet for her upcoming session. While she was here, we looked through all my props and she chose some things that really jumped out at her. My usual process is to send a styling questionnaire for my clients to fill out, then I choose what I think best matches what they'll love based on their answers. My normal process works out great, and I send pictures/videos to clients so we can approve the looks, or make any changes before their session. But, it was so fun to have Megan here to choose props she loved! Once I had a base of which pieces we wanted to use, I worked my magic coordinating colors, layers, wraps etc.
Blake was a dream to work with, and did so well for all his photos. He woke up to take a look at what was going on around him, before falling back asleep to finish off the session. Just look at those big bright eyes in the awake shots I captured of him! He's so adorable!! 😍
When it comes to styling for your newborn photography session, which would you prefer? A hands on approach, getting to see props, colors, and other options in person? Or giving your photographer some ideas of what you like, and letting them take care of the creative process for you.
