Jacksonville NC Maternity Photographer | Howard

The Howard’s and I arrived at Northeast Creek Park, Jacksonville NC, where I was most definitely doused in bug spray that didn’t really do it’s job. The mosquito bites (8 in all) were worth it!! And somehow, they always are.
The best part of my job is definitely the fact that I get to capture such special moments in people’s lives. Milestones that show growth of an individual, a family, of love and life. With each click of the shutter, and hour spent editing, I fall more and more in love with these moments. How each is their own individual flash in time that will never be repeated exactly the same by anyone.
Kristin came to me wanting to document two significant milestones in her and her husband Jordan’s life. I contemplated over and over as to whether I should make this into one blog post, or two. I ultimately decided that it should be one, because I wanted to show these images side by side, since that is the reality of these moments.
The first thing Kristin expressed wanting to document is Jordan’s journey as a Marine, having just reenlisted to serve another contract. Kristin shared that she wanted this first part of the session to be all about Jordan, and images of them together at this point to be representation of her support for him. I may not know them all that well after only spending an hour or so with them, but I will be bold and say I believe Jordan deserves his moment in the spot light. I know the years of any Marine’s life given to this country have been no small feat. Thank you for your service Jordan!
And finally, the second occasion these two wanted documented is that they are expecting their first child and I can’t say enough about how excited that makes me!! I love love love when families grow! The more the merrier right?! Jordan and Kristin came to me wanting to capture a gender announcement to share with family and friends. Of course, I couldn’t help but be tickled to be in on the surprise. Do you think they will be welcoming a boy or a girl?!? Check out the images to find out!! 🙂
